NEW ELEMENTARY SMALL SCHOOLS

Oakland's newest elementary schools will open this fall at Prescott, Manzanita, Melrose, Highland, and Stonehurst (2).  These schools are founded on values of constructivism, parent partnerships, and academic excellence.  Some have a math and science focus, while others will be a project-based learning environment.
Oakland's newest middle schools (and one 6-12!) will open on the campuses of Calvin Simmons, Havenscourt, and Elmhurst.  These schools are grounded in the understanding that adolescence is a unique time in the lives of children and provides rich opprtunities for growth and learning.
