Shared Site Committees are beginning to form and take hold.

KEYS  from shared site experience:

1. Treat the meetings as one of the "Most Important" to the success of the school.  KEEP THEM SACRED when competing issues arise.

2. Focus on developing relationships, in the long haul, "ally-ship" is what you are looking for.
(ALLY-SHIP defined as: Taking reponsibility for each other's best interests.)

3. Document EVERYTHING!!!  ...especially decisions.

4. Pick your battles wisely.  There will be MANY.  Most will feel urgent, critical, and significant.  Some aren't.  A little goes a long way in terms of compromise when sharing a site.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BE DOING???

Create a shared site committee binder
to record discussions and decisions.  Select a rotating recorder. Identify a key location to keep it or member to hold on to it.  Bring it to every meeting.
